Our History
Empty Tomb started in December 1997. It was founded by Steve Sheridan, Jim Miller, and Dave Kittle - three men in the used auto sales industry. After five years of hosting Bible studies at the car lot, the Lord eventually lead them to open a ministry in South Omaha working with the homeless, the addict, and the broken. The Lord clearly put it on their hearts to not just feed them spiritually but feed them also naturally because they were really hungry. The church’s first building was on South 23rd Street in what used to be a bookie joint. Their second building was a former bar they took over in the neighborhood, and finally the church settled in their current home where they’ve operated out of for the past 22 years.
