What is a Disciple?

By |June 23rd, 2015|Uncategorized|

A disciplined follower. A learner. And you’re only a learner when you’re learning. And you’re only a learner when you’re doing what you’ve been taught. And discipleship is not a matter of membership of some organization but it is an attitude towards the Teacher.

How far are you?

By |June 22nd, 2015|Uncategorized|

In Mark 12 Jesus tells a scribe “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” I preached on this yesterday. The key is if you’re not far from the kingdom of God it’s only a short journey to get there through surrender. Or if you’re miles away you’re still not as far as you think. Just call on the Name of Jesus in repentance. The warning, if you die not far from the kingdom of God you’re still not in the kingdom of God. If someone drowns near the shore they’ll be just as dead as if they died in the depths of the ocean. To be almost saved from a house fire means you died from burns or smoke. To be almost saved means you’re not saved. Do a spiritual check up. Make sure you’ve not drifted away from the Lord. Make sure […]

The Bible says study to show yourself approved unto God. Prayerful, Daily Bible reading is essential to a fulfilling walk with God. Charles Spurgeon said, “A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.”

The wheat in the weeds

By |June 20th, 2015|Uncategorized|

In Matthew chapter 13 Jesus gives us the parable of the wheat and the weeds. It’s amazing to realize that the wheat and weeds grow together. So every Sunday in all our churches we have wheat and weeds sitting there together. God planted wheat and the devil planted the weeds. Two things, 1. We must protect the wheat from the weeds. 2. With godly example and solid teaching under the unction of the Holy Spirit, The weeds can be turned into wheat. Hallelujah!

There is a command in the book of Ephesians that is one of the greatest in the Bible. “Be filled with the Holy Spirit!” The word filled indicates just that, completely full. The more of ourselves we give up to God the more of us He will fill. A person full of the Holy Spirit will do more in One year than can be done in 100 years without Him.

Obedience to the Lord is the key to successful Christian walk. If God tells you to do something, He will make a away for you to do it. Hudson Taylor said, ” God’s work done God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”

Live near God

By |June 15th, 2015|Uncategorized|

The Bible says draw near to God and God will draw near to you. This is not a one time meeting. This is where the Lord wants us to stay, near Him. Robert Murray McCheyne said, “Live near to God, and so all things will appear to you little in comparison with eternal realities.”

Like Jesus

By |June 13th, 2015|Uncategorized|

The Bible tells us in the Gospel of Matthew that Jesus went about preaching, teaching, and healing. There is the model of true ministry! We’ve been speaking on the theme of being like Jesus. To be like Jesus we need to love like Jesus, preach like Jesus, teach like Jesus, and bring healing like Jesus. How you ask? By the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead Who now dwells in us His followers!

Three things you can’t do without

By |June 12th, 2015|Uncategorized|

1.Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

2. Without faith it’s impossible to please Him.

3. Jesus said, Without Me you can do nothing.
